What’s in the Staffie Room

20150509_164917

So, I’m the ever proud Mummy to this little gorgeous.

I love him unconditionally.

What I don’t like it how the media portray this breed, and the subsequent prejudice he suffers as a result. Oh, he’s also a rescue dog with pretty bad ‘other dog’ issues.

So, for ages I’ve planned to start something that would give our babies a voice… don’t get me wrong, the tide is turning I believe.  Never before have I seen so many posts in popular media about dog attacks. But likewise I’m noticing more and more comments in defense of this beautiful breed. So I want to do my bit for my boy and all the other beautiful babies out there.

I hope you’ll all get to know me and my boy more over time;  our past, how he came to find us, how his little life has played a huge part in ours… so very many things I can’t wait to write about! But I plan to be honest; good, bad, ugly, staffie farts an’ all!

In time (very new to this!) I hope to be able to put all the stories in the media here and and counter with facts that the media tend to distort for sensation  (I work in the media – I know!), positive stories, petitions… whatever I can do in my own small way to change people’s thinking about my wonderful baby (currently I’m sat and he has his head on my knee as there is roast chicken on the side and he wants it! I will succumb to the puppy eyes, always do!)

So, that’s it for now. So much more to say (and learn).

Will be setting up a Facebook page and featuring all the brilliant staff stories, pics, babies in need I can find.

Lots of love from the staff😆

  1. Love your introduction to your blog and the positive and passionate reasons for writing it. I look forward to following you both and hearing all about how you found each other and your relationship together. Like you, I feel passionately about having a voice against staffism and educating the public about these beautiful dogs. Since having my first dog and staffy for two years now, I have been astonished at the prejudice I have had towards myself and my dog by people who don’t even know us. I have worked so hard to give Jasper the best chance in life at being a dog, I’ve socialised him, trained him, and loved him and he is such a beautiful dog, despite having front leg deformities and spending, three months in hospital from 4-7 months old, he had 5 operations and during one he cardiac arrested, he was saved by CPR, when he came round he was wagging his tail, bless him! and now at 2 years old being diagnosed with hind knew dislocations, he’s always happy and excited to see people, he’s never even growled at another dog and is very dog friendly. I am very proud of both him and myself.
I’m so pleased that you are leading a voice for Staffordshire Bull Terriers! I look forward to following you! X

    1. Aww thanks so much. I’ve planned on doing this for ages.
We have a long story to tell! Not all good, some major first dog issues and some other issues along the way but all full of love for my boy. He’s truly our world.
I’m keen to get to know other bull parents and hear all their brilliant no doubt stories. I am the crazy lady who crosses the road to stroke a staff (or any dog haha).
